This was a performance exercise in letting go.
In
New Orleans Jacob built a overly slick and pristine box, and loaded it
with all of his earthly possessions (including all his photos, negatives,
slides, etc).
He sealed it and sent it off into the world, across America, over the
Atlantic ocean back to Denmark.
Just like Jacob once took off to go to America ten years earlier; in good condition, slick and quite pristine.
When the box arrived in Denmark a couple of months later, it still contained all of Jacob's things, but it had many dents and scratches.
